In just eight short years, MCW Starz has created a sought-after, elite AAU girls basketball program committed to changing the lives of players both on and off the court. We offer competitive play at a regional and national level and have helped over 120 girls go on the play in college and placed over 100 girls on regional private high school basketball teams.
Founders and coaches Mandy Carter-Zegarowski and Zach Zegarowski have basketball in their blood, and they passed that passion to their four children. While their children were young and growing up in AAU programs, they started Mass Hoops Elite which offered camps, training clinics, workouts, and player development to young basketball players. What began as a family passion grew into the full AAU program of today.
While growing the MCW Starz program, Mandy and Zach successfully guided all four children through the college recruiting process and guided their son Michael from Syracuse to the NBA. Michael was named NBA Rookie of the year in 2014! Mandy and Zach bring all these hands-on experiences to MCW Starz, plus a combined 30+ years of youth coaching.
Today, the same core principles stayed the same: teamwork, developing a positive self-image, good sportsmanship, respect, unity, loyalty, leadership, and managing adversity. MCW Starz aims to develop life-long athletes and confident women. We strive to make a difference in the lives of all our athletes.
