Coach
Matt has been coaching with MCW Starz since 2016. Over the course of his coaching career, he’s helped more than 40 players find opportunities to play at the collegiate level. Coach Smith coaches teams in the S40 and P24 circuits.
Matt is also a New Hampshire high school girls basketball coach for Concord Christian Academy. The Concord Christian Academy girls team has won three consecutive state championships at the Division IV, Division III, and Division II levels and are now playing in Division I.
Coach Smith played collegiate basketball at the Division 3 and Division 2 levels. He comes from a quality coaching pedigree as two of his former coaches are still coaching professionally. His former coach, Scott Flemming, is currently the director of the NBA Coaching Academy in India. Former coach Mike Wells, a long time assistant in the NBA, is now the coach of the Australian professional league Adelaide 36rs.
Matt is married to Carrie Smith. Together they have four daughters who all played for MCW Starz. Their oldest two daughters are currently playing Division 2 basketball, and the other two are looking forward to putting on the MCW Starz uniforms again this spring.
