Director of Development, Coach
Zach was a recruited scholarship basketball player at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. After graduating from UMass, Zach joined his high school basketball coach at Charlestown High School as a teacher and assistant coach. Working with Head Coach Jack O’Brien, Zach coached basketball and JV baseball. Together they won five state basketball titles and successfully facilitated the placement of over 30 student-athletes into college. Their commitment to these student-athletes changed lives and created opportunities.
In addition to coaching at the high school level, Zach was also the head coach for the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) and the EYBL Expressions Elite. The EYBL is a national circuit recognized as the top circuit for high school basketball players in the United States.
With his elite-level coaching experience, Zach went on to develop workout programs for NBA players Nerlen Noel, Georges Niang and his son Michael Carter-Williams — a McDonald’s All American, who took Syracuse University to the Final Four while earning NCAA Tournament MVP and Big East Most Improved Player. After college, Michael was a first-round NBA draft pick and chosen as the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year.
Training started early with the Carter-Zegarowski kids. Zach trained and supported all four of his children — Michael, Marcus, Masey and Max — from elementary to high school basketball, and all four were D1 recruited scholarship college players.
Over the past 25 years, Zach has coached and supported players from grade school to the NBA, and established himself as one of the top skills development workout coaches on the East Coast.
