Coach
As the son of Mandy Carter-Zegarowski and Zach Zegarowski, basketball just runs in Marcus’s blood, and his love of the sport started at a very young age. By high school, Marcus was averaging 20+ points a game playing for Hamilton-Wenham High School and helping his team to their first-ever undefeated season and state title. He then joined Tilton School where he led his team to a NEPSAC Class AA championship and won the NEPSAC AA Player of the Year.
After high school, Marcus played Big East ball at Creighton University as their starting point guard and led the Bluejays to their first-ever Sweet 16 appearance. During his time at Creighton, he was named: Big East All-Freshman, All-Big East Second Team, Big East First Team and All-American. His basketball career and success continued with a second-round draft pick by the Brooklyn Nets and then four years of international competition.
Marcus is now settled back in New England and excited to share his passion for the game and years of experience with the next generation of players through his unique MZ Hoop Work workouts. He truly understands what it takes mentally and physically to be the best of the best.
